American Addiction Centers – Ringwood

Return to the Featured Projects page

FKA Architects has designed the newest campus for American Addition Centers in Ringwood, New Jersey.  American Addiction Centers operate drug and alcohol treatment centers across the United States.

The Ringwood facility is situated on the expansive site of the former Convent of the Sisters of Saint Francis, across from Ringwood Manor State Park.  FKA began this project with the preparation of a masterplan and feasibility study of the site and existing buildings to determine how ACC could meet their needs with this property.

The project included retaining some of the existing significant buildings and site features as well as the construction of a new addition.  The existing original mansion will be restored and renovated to house the educational portion of AAC’s treatment program.  The existing dormitory building will also be renovated to provide modern amenities and finishes.  A new 4 story, 65,000 sf. addition will be constructed to contain a total of 150 beds for the facility.  Site improvements will also be constructed including extensive landscaping and an independent wastewater treatment plant.

Additional amenities will include a full-service restaurant, fitness center, multi-purpose room, doctors and nurse’s offices, examination rooms, administrative offices, lounges, private therapy rooms, and case manager’s offices.

When complete, this facility will be the largest dedicated re-use project within the County’s Highlands Region.
