The Westwood Regional School District asked FKA to study their existing athletic facilities (formerly located at two different sites) to develop an Athletic Masterplan for the district. The district’s Varsity Football field is over a mile away from the high school, creating difficult game day and practice logistics. The district desired all varsity sports to be at the high school, in one complex. This proved to be challenging due to the encroachment buffers of an adjacent stream at both sites as well as a significant amount of wetlands.
The resulting project included a complete new stadium at the high school including a new synthetic multi-purpose field, rubberized track, and home grandstand.
This project also included the refurbishment and construction of new grass softball, soccer, field hockey and baseball fields as well as lighting throughout the complex.
